Joshua Cohen is a founding member and senior partner at the firm specializing in the representation of hospitals and health care professionals in medical malpractice actions and administrative proceedings. He is currently Vice President of the New York State Medical Defense Bar Association and is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York Committee on Medical Malpractice (Chairman of the HIPAA sub-committee). Mr. Cohen is also a member of the Supreme Court, New York County, Bench Bar Committee on Medical Malpractice. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. He’s listed in Who’s Who in American Law and is A.V. Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Cohen has given numerous lectures in the area of medical malpractice law, appellate issues, and the representation of health care professionals, including “Reducing Your Risk of Malpractice Litigation;” “The Anatomy of a Malpractice Lawsuit;” “Charting: A Legal Perspective;” “2008 Malpractice Appellate and Legislative Update;” “Avoiding Medical Malpractice Pitfalls;” “The Impact of the Arons Decision on Ex Parte Interviews;” “HIPAA’s Impact on Litigation;” “Frye Hearings in Malpractice Actions;” “Discovery in Medical Malpractice Actions;” and “The Medical Malpractice Trial.” In addition, Mr. Cohen participates as a faculty member in continuing legal educations programs for attorneys.
